Last year Emma Chase’s Legal Brief’s series was a real reading highlight. Every book was seemed impossibly better than it’s predecessor. Novellas don’t get much better than SIDEBARRED!

RR_synopsis

Join Jake & Chelsea, Stanton & Sofia, Brent & Kennedy as they navigate the hilarious and heartwarming hurdles of love, life and the law in this final addition to the Legal Briefs Series.

There was a time when Jake Becker had it all together. He was controlled, driven, ruthless—in and out of the courtroom.

Then, six irresistible orphans and their heartbreakingly beautiful aunt crashed into his perfectly ordered life. They changed everything. They changed him. Now he’s a husband, an upstanding member of society, a father figure—a family man.
And he’s pretty damn good at it.

Sure, he has to referee sibling smackdowns, re-learn algebra, ensure his clients stay of jail, and keep his wife happy—but it finally feels like he’s got it together again….
So, of course something has to screw it all up.

It’s huge. Life-changing. Kind of terrifying.

And it will be the most amazing, perfect thing he’ll ever do.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Emma Chase has a talent for writing some of the funniest scenes I’ve ever read. I’m talking, tears in my eyes-unladylike guffaws of laughter… Ok, gut-busting cackles!

To fans of the series, it’s an absolute must. Not only do we catch up with Chelsea, Jake and the adorably-hilarious kids, but the whole gang is along for the ride too.

SIDEBARRED is the cherry on the cake to an already sweet & delicious series. And although I love every novel, I can’t deny Jake Becker makes my heart beat the fastest. I don’t know how she does it but, I’ll be damned if Emma didn’t make me fall even harder for him.

As always the epilogue is a real gem and I treasure the huge kick I get from reading them. If you haven’t read the series yet, I’d recommend you rectify that soon. Otherwise you’d be doing yourself an injustice.
