Twist (Dive Bar, #2) by Kylie Scott

Release Date: 11th April 2017

Preorder: Amazon US | Amazon UK | Amazon AUS | Amazon CA | iBooks |

When his younger brother loses interest in online dating, hot, bearded, bartender extraordinaire, Joe Collins, only intends to log into his account and shut it down. Until he reads about her.

Alex Parks is funny, friendly, and pretty much everything he’s been looking for in a woman. And in no time at all they’re emailing up a storm, telling each other their deepest darkest secrets… apart from the one that really matters.

And when it comes to love, serving it straight up works better than with a twist.

★4.5 STARS★

It’s not very often you read a romance which involves a heroine with a phobia of intimacy. In many respects Alex Parks goes against the grain with what to expect from a leading lady. She can count her friends (one of them being a squirrel) on one hand, and she’s in her element locked away at home with no human contact for days on end.

It’s taken a huge amount of bravery on her part to turn up unannounced to her online love interests birthday party, unfortunately for Alex, the surprise is on her.

Joe Collins has some explaining to do. His intention of shutting down his brother’s online dating profile went awry the moment he began chatting with Alex. Before he knew it, he’d come to enjoy and depend on Alex’s friendship. He had intended to come clean; he just never thought he’d have to do it face to face.

Understandably Alex is upset, furious even, but I’d be a damn liar if I said I didn’t eat up every minute of it. Rather than be upset with Joe, I wanted to protect the glorious blond mountain man. He instantly enamoured himself to me with his vulnerability that was so at odds with his towering frame.

As closed off as Alex is, she’s a feisty thing (and don’t tell her I said this, but utterly adorable), much to my enjoyment she has no hesitations in telling Joe what she thinks of him. His pleads for a second chance fall on deaf ears until an act of fate steps in.

Twist once again marks the wonderful return of Kylie and her fantastic characters. Much like her Stage Dive series, it really was a group effort when it comes to my overall enjoyment of the novel. Scott serves up the perfect mix of banter, friendship and romance with a dirty twist that’s sure to leave you with a raging book hangover.
